READY WHEN IT MATTERS.
Amateur radio remains an important tool for preparedness, weather awareness and community communication.
BE ALERT.
BE PREPARED.
During hurricanes and severe weather, amateur radio operators can provide an additional way to share information and support coordination when conventional communication systems are strained.
SKYWARN spotters learn to identify and report significant weather conditions. SWLARC encourages training, accurate reporting and coordination with authorized net control and emergency management personnel.
For emergencies, follow official warnings and contact emergency services as appropriate. Amateur radio information is not a substitute for official warnings.
